Our Story

The National Waste & Recycling Foundation (NWRF) was created to strengthen the industry through knowledge, research, and opportunity. Focused on education and research,  NWRF exists to look beyond today’s challenges and invest in the long-term success of the people, companies, and communities that power waste and recycling services across the country.

From advancing public education campaigns to funding education for those focused on a career in waste and recycling and supporting independent research, the Foundation serves as a bridge between industry expertise and public understanding. Our work centers on safety, sustainability, innovation, and career pathways, helping ensure the industry continues to evolve responsibly and resiliently.
